Eveswell Primary School curtain raiser Sunday 7th November

“It was amazing, definitely want to do it again” – Eveswell Duets scholar.

After only a few months of ballet and contemporary classes, the Duets scholars of Eveswell Primary School absolutely shone on the Riverfront Theatre stage and showed a combination of technique and sequences they’ve learnt alongside their own creative ideas. The piece was echoing the second act of Ballet Cymru’s Giselle and the children incorporated movements depicting the zombies and ghosts trapped in the forest.

“My mum said that we were all brilliant and she wants to see another show like that” – Eveswell Duets scholar.

Every scholar received a complimentary ticket for someone to come to watch them perform; some brought their whole family, the majority of whom had never been to watch a theatre performance before. After performing the curtain raiser to open the show, the scholars joined the audience to watch Ballet Cymru perform Giselle, and all the children and their families were amazed by the professional dancers who have inspired the scholars in their own ballet sessions. One of the scholars came back for more to see Ballet Cymru perform their triple bill ‘Made In Wales’ the following week. They did a wonderful performance and we are so proud of them all.

“I loved it, it was one of the best experiences of my life, and I want to do it again” – Eveswell Duets scholar.
